They work on various projects, including Commercial, Residential, Industrial, Mixed Use, Retail, and Education sectors.
Our client is looking for a motivated Contracts Administrator / Junior Project Manager to join their dynamic team. In this role, you'll be juggling multiple projects, gaining a deep understanding of where all the time and money goes. This position is perfect for someone with 1-2 years of contract administration experience who’s eager to gain experience in project management, estimating, and design, making you an all-rounder for a commercial builder.
Responsibilities
- Estimating Take-offs: Figuring out how much materials, labour, and equipment will be needed for different projects.
- Contract Administration: Handling contracts from start to finish, ensuring compliance with all terms and conditions.
- Project Management: Assisting in planning, executing, and closing projects while keeping track of timelines and budgets.
- Design Coordination: Working with the design team to ensure project specs are met and any issues are quickly resolved.
- Site Coordination: Keeping in touch with site managers and subcontractors to ensure everything stays on track.
- Budget Management: Monitoring project expenses to ensure they align with the allocated budget.
- Risk Management: Identifying potential risks early and developing strategies to mitigate them.
- Reporting: Preparing regular updates for senior management and stakeholders about project progress and financial performance.
Qualifications
- Experience: At least 1-2 years of experience in contract administration, with a strong interest in gaining experience in project management, estimating, and design.
- Education: A degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field is a plus.
- Tech Skills: Familiar with estimating software (like Bluebeam or CostX) and proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Project).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, comfortable dealing with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
